Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club

Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club sits just outside the village of Brockenhurst, right on the edge of the New Forest National Park in Hampshire. It's an easy one to slot into a south coast itinerary, with straightforward access from Southampton and Bournemouth.

If you like your golf framed by trees, you'll enjoy it here. The fairways are lined and the heathland feel keeps things pretty and punchy, with accuracy and sensible club selection usually paying off more than trying to overpower the place. It's the sort of course where a well-placed tee shot sets up the hole and you can score if you keep it in play.

There's a nice bit of pedigree too. Justin Rose set the course record here back in 1996 and the club later hosted an event on the Rose Ladies Series, with the inaugural tournament held at Brokenhurst Manor in June 2020. It's a good talking point for the post-round debrief.

The clubhouse has a traditional, welcoming feel and works well for societies and groups who want somewhere relaxed to eat, have a drink and swap stories afterwards. Being so close to the New Forest is a bonus if not everyone in the party is playing every day, or you fancy mixing a round with a walk in the national park.

Include Brokenhurst Manor on your next New Forest golf break as a tidy opener or a final-day round before heading home.

Who is this for? Golfers wanting a scenic New Forest round with easy access from Southampton or Bournemouth.

Who is it best for? Mixed-ability groups and mid-handicappers who like tree-lined, strategic golf and a friendly clubhouse.

Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club

Set in the heart of the New Forest in Hampshire, Brokenhurst Manor is just a short drive from the main stretch of road into Bournemouth – perfect for golfers who want to enjoy a round on their way to one of the South’s top tourist destinations.

The course was originally designed by the legendary Harry Colt and it is a testament to his design back in 1915 that it remains a stern test for the modern game. Aesthetically stunning with fairways threading through the forest, the key to a good round is avoiding the strategically positioned bunkers and reading the tricky undulating greens.

Known for its superb condition and measuring 6222 yards in length, the undulating layout is set in beautiful forest surroundings that are perfect for a competitive match or a relaxing sociable game.

The railway company changed the village name by adding a 'c' but the golf club has kept the original spelling of Brokenhurst which is closer to the pre-Norman Conquest version of Brocenhyrst, meaning 'broken wooded hill', as in a hill intersected by streams featuring many clearings.

Practice Facilities

A large practice area is available a short walk from the clubhouse adjacent to the 18th tee and a recently added short game area means golfers can work on shots to target greens strategically positioned at 50, 75 and 100 Yards.

A large putting green is located directly outside the Pro Shop as well as an all weather putting green for practice all year round. The golf club is currently building an Indoor facility located close to the clubhouse which will house 3 practice nets, these will complement the current nets located near the putting green.
