If you're staying at Costa Navarino, The Dunes Course is the one to prioritise. Designed by Bernhard Langer, it's widely regarded as one of Greece's standout resort rounds, mixing generous views with a proper test that rewards good course management over raw power.
Signature holes
The 2nd is a driveable par 4 with The Romanos Hotel down the left, always tempting if the wind is kind. The par-3 5th asks a different question entirely, with a green that falls away, so a half-committed strike will be punished. On the back nine, the par-5 16th is a holiday-hole in the best sense, with cracking mountain views and a real birdie chance if you place your tee shot.
How it plays
Expect undulating fairways, elevation changes and greens that tend to sit up, so club selection matters. Accuracy off the tee is more important than raw length, with olive trees and rocky waste areas framing plenty of driving zones. The routing takes you through ancient olive groves and past rocky outcrops that give it a proper, natural Greek feel. From the forward tees it's very playable, but you'll score best by keeping it in play and staying disciplined into the putting surfaces.
After your round, head to FLAME in the Dunes Clubhouse. It's an excellent post-golf option and well worth booking.
