If you're after a quieter Spanish escape where you can actually hear yourself think on the back nine, Precise Resort El Rompido is a cracking shout. Set on the Costa de la Luz, right where the Marismas del Río Piedras marshes meet the Atlantic, it's a five-star resort that genuinely feels part of its surroundings, not plonked on top of them. You're next to a working fishing village too, which gives the place a bit of real character beyond the usual resort bubble.
Getting here is easy enough for UK golfers. Faro Airport is roughly an hour by car, so it's a handy option for a sunshine break, especially if you're weighing up all inclusive golf in Spain. Weather-wise, this corner of Andalucía stays pleasantly warm for most of the year, which makes El Rompido a strong pick for winter golf when home courses are on mats and temporary greens.
There are two courses on-site, North and South, and the big win here is variety without the fuss. It's not a loud, high-energy spot aimed at big societies, it's calmer, more grown-up and a great fit for couples or small groups who want quality golf, a proper spa and somewhere relaxing to come back to after 18. The hotel delivers five-star comfort that doesn't feel overdone, and the natural setting, marshland, estuary and coastal pine, gives the whole place a rhythm that's hard to beat.
Who is this for? Golfers seeking a refined, nature-focused escape on Spain's quieter Atlantic coast.
Who is it best for? Couples and small groups who value tranquillity, quality over quantity, and a resort that feels connected to its surroundings rather than isolated from them.

Golf Courses at Precise Resort El Rompido
South Course
In 2003, Alvaro Arana put together a beautiful course featuring pine trees and orange groves on wonderful parkland turf. Just like it's neighbour, the North Course, the nearby marshes play a prominent role in the backdrop of this course and add to the character of the track. The South course is one that rewards accurate and clever golf, thinking your way around the course and playing conservative golf will put you in good positions to make a score.
The rolling terrain has some slight but beautiful elevation changes as you move through the course. The South at El Rompido Resort reserves its most spectacular feature to the very end. The 17th and 18th tees sit on a pontoon so you can play your tee shots over the marsh and onto the fairway beyond. This course is so much fun but those final two tee shots really leave you with a great impression of the place.

North Course
The inception of the North Course in 2006 confirmed El Rompido's position as one of the region's golfing leaders, and is well worth a stop during your golf holiday in Andalucia. Not the longest in the world, however, it is a course for smart golfers rather than long-bombers and requires well thought-out golf shots to score well. Set in the middle of the Marismas del Río Piedras Nature Reserve amongst mature pine and orange groves The North is a joy to behold with plenty of nature to compliment the golf course.
Most of the front-9 of this course makes its way along the Piedra River marshlands. The feel of the land and the inevitable southern Spanish heat gives the course a feel reminiscent of Florida. As you play the more inland back nine, the course has an absolute gem awaiting you.
The 16th is one of the highlights of the round and the short par-3 is not one to take lightly. At only 136-yards, you would be forgiven for letting the beauty of the marsh in the background and the lack of distance put you off. However, you will need to keep your wits about you as the green is protected by two of golf’s most fearsome hazards…coffin bunkers.
Both the North and South Courses have their own extensive practice ranges that are designed by golf professionals to offer the best practice facilities.

The Golf School
The courses at El Rompido Resort are impressive, however, the practice facilities here are just astounding. With two comprehensive practice areas, one for each course, you can use your time at the resort to really work on your game and come home a better golfer. In fact, this is the perfect place to go for some pre-season training so you can hit the season at home running.
The facilities on the southern side have a large putting green, comprehensive short game areas and a full-length driving range to develop your long game. The northern practice complex features a shorter driving range, a wedge area for working on longer approach shots, a putting green, a chipping green and a practice bunker. You have plenty of options to find a quiet place to develop your skills.
These courses are a joy to play and with the facilities on offer after your round, you can enjoy a great drink and a chat with your playing partner(s) as you wind down from a day of fun. The El Rompido Resort is a gem of Southern Spain and one not to miss.
Accommodation at Precise Resort El Rompido
Precise Resort El Rompido has 184 rooms and 12 suites, plus 305 apartments if you want a bit more space or prefer a self-contained set-up. Most rooms come with sea views and the look is modern and understated, more light tones than heavy décor. The grounds are a real plus, lots of mature trees and planting, so it feels greener and more private than many big resorts.
Start with a buffet breakfast that covers the basics properly before a round. There are two on-site restaurants for lunch and dinner, with a mix of local Andalusian dishes and familiar favourites. Two bars give you good options for a post-round drink, and there's a nightclub on-site if you fancy stretching the evening a bit further.
The spa is the obvious off-course highlight, with an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, plus treatments if you want to go all-in on the recovery session after golf. Outside, the main pool is ideal on warmer days and there's usually enough space to find a quieter spot. The whole set-up feels designed for couples and smaller groups who want to relax without the noise and crowds you sometimes get at bigger resorts.
For non-golfers, boat trips to nearby beaches are a great way to spend a morning or afternoon, and Huelva is close enough for a simple day out. There's also a fitness studio and plenty of walking routes if you want to explore the local terrain. The marshland around the resort is protected, so if you're into birdwatching or just fancy a quiet walk, it's worth bringing a pair of binoculars and taking your time.
El Rompido works particularly well for couples. The pace is unhurried, the setting is genuinely beautiful, and there's enough variety, golf, spa, beach access, local culture, to keep a few days interesting without feeling overprogrammed. It's a resort that rewards those who want to slow down rather than pack every hour with activity.
Precise Resort El Rompido is located within the protected Marismas del Río Piedras marshes in Cartaya, Huelva. Both Seville and Faro airports are approximately one hour away by car. If you'd like to build a hassle-free El Rompido package with tee times and transfers included, our golf travel specialists can tailor it around your dates, group size and board basis.

This is my second visit to El Rompido, it is clean, comfortable, the staff are wonderful and the food is delicious.

The bedrooms were very clean, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was good, varied and plentiful. Both bars catered for all of our needs and twice a duo was on the Son Saura bar at night and they played well to our gallery and we had fun! All the staff in the hotel were so helpful and they all appeared to be happy in their work. We used the Spa after golf which was very therapeutic. It was extremely clean and we had to wear a hat which helps with the cleanliness.

Our second visit here, both within this year for one week. The hotel common areas are spacious, calming and elegant. The staff are all very friendly and efficient whether in the hotel or golf club. Outside areas around the pool are excellent and a small supermarket next to the apartment blocks alongside the hotel is very handy. The restaurant for buffet breakfasts and dinners is great and efficiently organised with an excellent choice and variation of food. The bars are welcoming and often lively, but never rowdy, as this hotel in the golfing season attracts cultured and well mannered individuals.
We definitely will go back.

Very nice resort with good facilities with one exception - no tea/coffee making facility in the room. Resort very busy and consequently bars and in particular buffet struggled to cope on occasion.
Supermarket on site useful for purchasing bits and pieces

The hotel ticks all the boxes for a superb week. The accommodation, staff, food and value were all excellent. There was entertainment most nights, it is a wonderful location for a golf week.

On arrival we were given the choice of up graded hotel rooms or self catering apartment across the road , which meant own ensuite rooms with kitchenette and lounge area , we chose the apartments but still had all our food in the main restaurant .
The 2nd upgrade was unexpected , upgraded to semi all inclusive , FANTASTIC .

Only one concern, after first week the restaurant in the morning changed its opening times from 07:00 to 07:30, we had early tee times each day at 08:00 which meant we would be rushing our breakfast especially if we were playing the north course, after a few golfers complained the tee time was reverted back to 07:00 but the hot breakfast food weren’t available till 07:30.

Excellent accommodation, very clean & comfortable, food was high quality with good choice. Pool area was spotless with more than adequate sunbeds, although this was outside of main holiday period ( mid June). Overall a very enjoyable experience.

An excellent location in a resort geared to golf groups of all sizes and all genders. Rooms are a good size with most having views of pool area. Restaurant food and choice is fine with excellent breakfasts. You can purchase and make up your own rolls for the course for just €2.!! Practice and clubhouse facilities very good.

Very spacious comfortable and calming hotel. The free room upgrade was great. The fellow guests were mostly northern european with a number of large groups (women mostly). The buffet dinner each evening offered different dishes each time with variety and quality. Breakfasts were great with many usual options. The staff everywhere were very attentive, pleasant and efficient. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The Precise Resort in El Rompido is advertised as 5 star accommodation, however, it is at best a 4 star. The staff are pleasant and the hotel is clean, but, the bedrooms and bathrooms are in need of an update. The buffet area in the dining room, for breakfast and evening meal, is inadequate for the amount of people, it has a very limited choice and frequently runs out with slow replenishment. The hotel also had an unusual policy of selling fruit at breakfast, i.e. bananas, apples, oranges etc. Several areas outside were being made ready for the ‘busy time’, ie, the decking and outside swimming pool, which we were told started in April. The indoor swimming pool incurred a cost of €3 for a ‘swimming hat and towel’. When you have already paid for the hotel, the purchase of fruit and extra charges for the pool, were slightly annoying. The weather was above average for our trip, however, there was no air conditioning, the reception staff stated that only the heating had been connected! The two golf courses were in very good condition and compliments to the green keepers.

Very comfortable room and good housekeeping. Staff are pleasant and helpful. It is a small hotel with one bar and a restaurant. The food is good but choice is limited. Overall it was a good experience and we will return there for more golf.

All was perfect but the bar area was noisy but this was not the fault of the hotel

Not a bad choice of food but unfortunately not cooked very well. Not 5 star

As last year hotel was clean and tidy, staff were very helpful

Everything was as you would want it to be. I have no hesitation in the rating of all aspects of the holiday and would highly recommend it to all golfers

Not quite as good as previous years. Changes to the bar/restaurant drinks policy was disappointing.
