The club is welcoming, the setting is mature and leafy and the course gives you that classic parkland feel where shaping shots and picking sensible targets tends to beat simply swinging harder.
Out on the course you'll find tree-lined fairways, gently rolling ground and enough change of direction to keep things interesting for mixed-ability groups. Miss the fairway and you will have to think your way back into position, but it's not a brutal, ball-losing slog. If you enjoy plotting your way round, you'll like it here. The greens are typically a strong point and when they're running true it becomes a really satisfying test of distance control.
