Set beside the Moray Firth, it delivers proper seaside golf: firm turf, a constant breeze and the sort of shotmaking you simply don't get on parkland back home.
It's also brilliantly placed for a multi-course trip. Nairn Golf Club is close by, Castle Stuart is an easy hop along the road and Royal Dornoch sits a little over an hour to the north. If you want to keep the costs sensible without skimping on quality, there are some cracking supporting options nearby too, including Boat of Garten, Fortrose & Rosemarkie and Golspie Golf Club.
On the course, expect the wind to be a proper factor, particularly on the more exposed holes. Fairways tend to run fast, greens are usually true and the bunkers are placed to catch the half-committed swing. Play it with your brain switched on, keep it under the breeze and you'll have a great day. Get loose with the driver and Nairn Dunbar will happily take a shot or two off you.
