Designed by Jack Nicklaus, it's a proper showstopper of a layout, set on dramatic coastal ground with several holes running right along the Caribbean Sea and ocean views on repeat.
The routing makes the most of the clifftop setting, with fairways cut through coral rock and native vegetation. Wind is a big part of the deal here, especially on the exposed seaside stretch, so it's not just about yardage, it's about picking the right club for the breeze. Off the tee you'll often find decent room, but approaches are where Punta Espada bites, with raised greens, smart bunkering and plenty of shots where the ocean is very much in play.
If you like your par 3s, the 13th is the postcard hole, playing over a rocky inlet to a green perched right on the edge. The finishing run from 15 to 18 stays close to the coastline, so you'll want your camera handy and your focus switched on. Expect firm, quick greens when it's playing at its best, the sort that reward good lag putting and punish anything loose.
