Sandos Griego Hotel

Sitting right in the heart of the Costa del Sol, Torremolinos is a handy base for a proper mix of golf, beach time and a bit of nightlife. The 4-star Sandos Griego Hotel is around six kilometres from Málaga Airport, so you can be checked in and thinking about your first tee time far quicker than you'd expect on the coast.

You're a short walk from the town centre, the beach is about 15 minutes on foot and, in summer, there's a free shuttle if you'd rather save your legs for the back nine. If you're looking for a sunny, good-value all inclusive beach holiday that still keeps you close to quality golf, it's a smart shout.

Course-wise, you've got plenty of variety within easy reach, including Torrequebrada, Chaparral, Calanova, Santana Golf and the three layouts at La Cala Resort. That means less time in the car and more time doing what you came for. If you're browsing wider options, start with our Spain golf holidays too.

This is a lively, sociable hotel with 417 rooms, a poolside buzz and an entertainment programme that keeps families and groups entertained. If you're looking for a quiet spa retreat, look elsewhere. If you want a convenient, value-driven all-inclusive stay that puts you close to quality golf and the energy of the Costa del Sol, this ticks the boxes.

Who is this for? Golfers who want a lively all-inclusive base in Torremolinos, with quick transfers and plenty of course choice nearby.

Who is it best for? Societies and groups who like an easy setup, couples after winter sun and golfers who'd rather spend on tee times than boutique frills.

Accommodation at Sandos Griego Hotel

After a long day navigating the wind at Torrequebrada or grinding through the back nine at Chaparral, your room at the Sandos Griego offers a clean, modern space to reset. The 417 rooms are bright, air-conditioned and designed with function in mind. Each features a flat-screen TV, a full private bathroom, free Wi-Fi and a furnished balcony where you can sit with a cold beer and replay the round in your head.

Room types range from single occupancy through to larger family configurations, making the hotel a practical choice for mixed groups or societies travelling with varying budgets. The decor is contemporary without being flashy, the beds are comfortable and the Wi-Fi is included throughout the hotel, handy for organising tee times and transfers.

The all-inclusive package centres on the main buffet restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a rotating selection of international dishes. Show cooking stations add a bit of energy to the evening service and the variety is broad enough to keep you fed without feeling repetitive over a three or four-night stay. If you're poolside and don't fancy the walk back to the restaurant, the snack bar keeps you topped up with light bites and cold drinks throughout the day.

In the evenings, the hotel offers several bars including the lively Bar Salon and Pepe's Disco Bar, which caters to the adults-only crowd. During high season, all-inclusive guests can take the hotel shuttle to the Griego Beach Snack Bar for included drinks and snacks right by the sea, a nice touch that extends the package beyond the hotel grounds.

If I'm travelling with a group, I'll take this kind of location every time. The Sandos Griego runs a full entertainment programme that includes live music, professional shows and poolside games led by the hotel's animation team. There is a swimming pool with sunbeds and parasols, two sun terraces and a fitness room for anyone who still has energy left after 18 holes. The free shuttle bus to the beach operates from May to September, giving you the option to swap the pool for the Mediterranean without needing a taxi.

For golfers, the hotel's real advantage is proximity. You are a short drive from some of the Costa del Sol's most playable and varied courses, and the location puts you in the middle of the action without the need for long transfers or complicated logistics.

rooms very clean - located on first floor overlooking pool, all in all great value for money, all staff helpful and friendly. a bit of noise late at night too much alcohol - maybe free drinks should be restricted. some colleagues experienced lots of noise on there floor involving drunken male partner in room where childen slept. i assume it was a holiday in hell for his partner and children. security had to be called. feedback from my 7 colleagues was extremely positive. as there was no place to rare the coach company i would like to state that the company was exceptional in cleanliness, time keeping, quality of coaches and drivers of highest standards. well worth 10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is very much a 'package holiday' hotel and even at this time of year was quite busy with families (mostly British). It was clean but the rooms were small and quite noisy. The bars were always busy and throughout our stay there was only one lift working which made life difficult when lugging golf bags, etc. However, as a golf group on a budget we were looking for something convenient and not too expensive and it lived up to that.

The hotel itself is nowhere near what a 4 star hotel is. The food is not good, and the staff, especially those working on reception, were consistently rude. The cleanliness of the rooms was good though but otherwise it is not a place I would recommend at all.

Hotel was clean and in a good location for our needs. The rooms were good size but would be handy to have a fridge And kettle to have a drink before and after the golf. The lifts were small and slow just about got 4 people and clubs in. Lots of queuing for drink only one barman on each bar.

It was described as 4star but would struggle to get 1. Probably the worst hotel I've stayed in. Impossible to get a sunbed.long queues in the bars and restaurant.very poorly equipped in the rooms and public areas. Outdated and dirty.lots of people trying to get as drunk as possible quickly. Only saving grace was la gioconda restaurant which had to be pre booked

Only problems we found with the hotel were the long queues at the bar as only one member of staff was working even though the queue was out the door (Management need to look at this) not the bar staffs fault. Also the lifts but I think this is a problem in most hotels in Spain and finally a lot of steps inside the hotel some of which you do not see until nearly falling down them

The problem with the hotel, is the bar facilities. There were 100's of people staying when we were there - 19th to 23rd May - but only ever one person serving in each of the two bars. This meant long queues waiting to get a drink and then you could only get two at a time, meaning if you are in a group, several people have to queue. The bar facilities are a real con for all inclusive!!

The hotel, and value, were excellent .The location choice based on the golf courses chosen to play was poor, at least a 40 minute drive to all courses, we had no option other than to hire a car and travel, as doing by TAXI would have been an horrendous cost

The hotel is very clean & rooms comfortable. The bars serve local beer & spirits as part of the All Inclusive but avoid the wine - it is dreadful! Worth paying an extra 5 Euro supplement for a Marques de Cacceras! Good entertainment after dinner in the late night bar but stops serving All Inclusive at midnight & then prices are whatever the bar staff feel like charging! The restaurant is cramped and as a group of 17 we could not sit all together as tables are set-up in 4s. There are a couple of tables for 8 but pot-luck getting one. Short walk to beach & train station which is handy for getting into Malaga. The transfer time to & from the airport is only about 15 minutes & transfers to golf courses was less than 30 minutes. All in all a good hotel and very reasonably priced.
