Arabian Ranches Golf Club

Arabian Ranches is the first golf course to be created by Ian Baker-Finch in association with Nicklaus Design, and it's a proper desert layout that wouldn't look out of place in Arizona or Palm Springs. Located just 20 minutes from Dubai Marina, the course offers easy access for anyone staying in the city's most spectacular waterfront district, making it a straightforward choice for golfers who want quality desert golf without the long transfer.

The facility is managed by Troon, so service standards are typically high and the course is usually presented in excellent nick. Beyond the 18-hole championship layout, Arabian Ranches features a floodlit practice facility, perfect for working on your game in the cooler evening hours, and the Ranches Restaurant for a well-earned meal after your round. If you like your desert golf neat, tidy and well run, Arabian Ranches tends to tick those boxes.

Who is this for? Golfers staying in Dubai Marina or the wider Dubai area who want a well-conditioned desert course with excellent facilities, strong customer service and the option to stay on-site in luxurious clubhouse accommodation.

Who is it best for? Mid-to-low handicappers who enjoy strategic desert golf and appreciate Nicklaus Design credentials, plus anyone looking for a convenient, high-quality round within easy reach of Dubai's main hotel districts without losing half the day to transfers.

Arabian Ranches Golf Club

Arabian Ranches is strictly a pay-as-you-play course, and this makes it superb value for the golf holiday-maker in Dubai. The two loops of nine reflect the natural character of the landscape as much as possible, which has been skilfully manipulated by former Open champion Baker-Finch to create some memorable holes.

Pristine fairways and greens round off what is an outstanding holiday resort course, and one that makes for a superb round on a top course as part of a golf escape to Dubai.

Accommodation at Arabian Ranches Golf Club

The Spanish Colonial-style clubhouse is the hub of the place and it's a lovely spot to wind down after your round. The Ranches Restaurant and Bar has a terrace looking over the 9th and 18th, so you can grab a drink and replay the best (and worst) swings with a proper view of the closing holes. Food-wise, it's an international menu that works well for golf groups, you'll find easy post-round favourites as well as more substantial options if you're making an evening of it.

If you like the idea of staying right on the course, there are 11 guest rooms within the clubhouse. It's a small, boutique-style set-up rather than a huge resort, which is exactly the appeal for many golfers. Rooms look out over either the course or the lake and come en-suite, with the usual modern comforts such as satellite TV, internet access and a minibar (always welcome after 18 in the Dubai heat).

The big benefit is convenience. You can roll out of bed, have breakfast, then hop in the buggy and head straight to the 1st tee without factoring in traffic or transfer times. It's also handy if you're travelling with a group and want everyone in the same place, with the practice facilities close by for a warm-up or a quick evening session under the floodlights.

Each room is beautifully furnished and comes with all the touches you'd expect from a premium facility, LCD satellite television, broadband internet and in-room amenities that make it easy to settle in after a long day on the course. The set-up genuinely works for golfers, you're staying right where you're playing, with everything you need within a few steps of your room. It's particularly appealing for golfers who want to maximise their time on the course without the hassle of early-morning hotel check-outs or sitting in Dubai traffic.

If you'd like to build Arabian Ranches into a Dubai golf break, we can pair it with other top courses in the city and organise tee times and transfers around your preferred base.
