Cabopino Golf Club

Cabopino Golf sits on a hillside above the Costa del Sol shoreline, just a few minutes from Marbella. If you fancy a day where you can enjoy your golf, keep the ball in play and still have plenty left in the tank for dinner and drinks, this is a handy pick.

Compared with some of the bigger-name courses in Spain, Cabopino tends to feel more playable for mixed-ability groups. Fairways are generally generous, the bunkering is sensible rather than savage, and you'll get chances if you plot your way round and hit decent approaches. It's not a pushover, but it's a round where mid and higher handicappers can have fun without spending all day searching in the rough.

The layout plays through gently rolling terrain with enough variety to keep things interesting. You're close enough to the coast to catch a bit of breeze on warmer days, which helps when the temperature climbs. Off the course, the location does a lot of the heavy lifting. You're a short drive from Marbella's old town and Puerto Banús, plus plenty of tapas spots and beach bars along the coast. In other words, Cabopino works nicely as the warm-up round on a tour, or as a sociable day out where the evening plans matter almost as much as the golf.

Cabopino Golf Club

The course is well known for the quality of its greens, which usually hold up well throughout the summer, while there are some really engaging and enchanting holes. Among those, the short third really stands out; dropping down from the tee to the fairway, the views are supreme.

The Marbella region is rich with golfing options, with something to suit every golf holiday demand. If great views and a relaxing round are appealing, then be sure to include Cabopino in your next golfing escape to the Costa Del Sol.

Signature Hole: Hole 3, Par 4, 288 metres (315 yards), SI 5

This fantastic par 4 contains a massive 60 metre vertical drop from tee to green. An attractive hole too, and one where the big hitters may fancy themselves to drive the green. However, golfers should be wary of the large bunker on the face of the green, meaning that a 3 wood or iron to lay up would certainly be a safer choice of shot.
