This is one of the most talked-about inland courses in the south, built through 256 acres of ancient woodland once enjoyed by Edward VI. It feels secluded, it's immaculately presented and it rewards the golfer who's happy to think their way round rather than just lash driver on every tee.
Remedy Oak has also proved it can stand up to serious competition as a past host of Open Championship Regional Qualifying, so it's more than capable of testing very good players. Add in regular mentions from the likes of Top 100 Golf Courses, Golf World and National Club Golfer and you get the picture. This is a proper championship test, not just a pretty walk.
If you're putting together a Bournemouth golf tour, it's a cracking change of pace alongside the area's heathland and coastal options. Expect tree-lined holes, heather and wild grasses framing the fairways and water hazards that ask an awkward question at just the wrong time. You can play it from 7,010 yards, but the four-tee set-up makes it workable for mixed-ability groups as well.
