Riu Palace Tikida Agadir

Riu Palace Tikida Agadir sits right on Agadir's sweeping 10-kilometre beach, with nothing but a quiet promenade between the hotel and the Atlantic. A private beach section is reserved exclusively for guests, offering a calm stretch of sand away from the crowds. The centre of Agadir, with its mix of souks, seafood restaurants and evening buzz, is roughly a kilometre south, so you're well placed for a bit of life off-site without committing to a big taxi run.

From a golf holiday point of view, the big plus is how easy it is to pair beach time with proper golf. Golf du Soleil is a ten-minute drive inland, which makes early tee times far less painful and keeps transfers simple for societies and corporate groups. If you're the type who likes a routine, you can get a quick breakfast in, play 18 (or more), then be back by mid-afternoon for the pool, spa and a late lunch.

Overall, it's a straightforward Agadir base that works particularly well for golfers who want guaranteed sun, minimal logistics and plenty to do when you're not on the course. The 24-hour all-inclusive setup means you can grab breakfast at dawn before an early tee time or settle in for a late dinner after a long day on the fairways, without constantly reaching for your wallet.

Who is this for? Golfers looking for an easy Agadir base with beach access and a simple all-inclusive routine.

Who is it best for? Societies and groups prioritising short transfers to Golf du Soleil, reliable sunshine and an on-site spa for post-round recovery.

Accommodation at Riu Palace Tikida Agadir

The hotel has 444 rooms and, as you'd expect from a large Riu resort, it's comfort-first rather than boutique. Rooms are modern, air conditioned and geared for an easy week, with balconies looking towards the ocean or over the pool terrace. Expect clean lines, beds that are generous and bathrooms that are modern without being flashy. This is not boutique territory, it's a well-run resort hotel where everything you need is within reach and nothing feels overcomplicated.

Riu's 24-hour all-inclusive setup suits golfers nicely. Early breakfast is served buffet-style from 7am, with enough fuel to see you through 18 holes without flagging. The standard offering, eggs, pastries, fresh fruit and strong coffee, covers the essentials. Twice a week, themed buffets add variety, though the core menu is solid enough that you won't feel short-changed on the other days.

For dinner, there are three themed restaurants that rotate through the week, so you're not eating the same menu every night. Marrakech is the standout, delivering slow-cooked lamb, saffron-laced fish and the kind of aromatic vegetable dishes that make Moroccan cuisine worth the trip alone. The flavours are bold, the portions are generous and the setting feels more intimate than the main buffet hall. Krystal handles fusion cooking with a lighter hand, blending Mediterranean and Asian influences without overcomplicating the plate. Il Mare, open only in summer, sticks to Italian staples, think fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza and seafood risotto. Formal dress is required in the evenings, so leave the polo shirts in the room and bring trousers that can handle a proper dinner.

Between rounds, the outdoor pool offers a quiet spot to cool off, while the thalassotherapy centre provides serious recovery options. Seawater-based treatments, massage and hydrotherapy pools are all available, and the gym is well equipped if you prefer to stay active. Horse riding along the beach or cycling into the surrounding countryside can be arranged through the concierge, though most guests seem content to stay put and let the resort do the work. The bars, pool, lounge and lobby, stay open until midnight, so there's always somewhere to settle in with a drink after dinner.

Great hotel set in lovely gardens right on the wonderful sandy beach. Promenade goes on a long way and is a good walk on a non golfing day. Completely safe as there are police and army patrols around all of the time. Food very good at the hotel and served by very happy smiling staff who went out of their way to accommodate everybodys needs. Room good but ask for the sunny side as our balcony did not get sun at anytime during the day. I expected gown and slippers but non provided. Kettle and mini bar (non alcohol only) in the room along with free safe and good wi-fi.
